District Collector T.N. Hariharan inaugurated a “Mobile Sales Vehicle” of value added products Self Help Groups (SHGs).
Funded by NABARD the mobile sales unit would travel to all parts of the city to sell value added products of millets, fruits, masala powders, and pickles.
Nutritional supplements and value added products made out of soghurn, ragi, Pearl millet, finger millet and other millets are in great demand and it would be made available to the public at their door steps.
"The Self Help Group members would also impart nutritional tips and education in the areas they visit and special training is being imparted to the SHG group women to enlighten the public on the value of nutrition and value added products" said District collector T.N. Hariharan.
Lead bank manager Kanakaraj, and Vasikaran Assistant General Manager NABARD took part in the function.
